Elections 2013 : Shah Mahmood Qureshi was PTI candidate from NA-148, (Multan-I) and NA-150 (Multan-III).

He lost election in NA-148 (Multan-I) against Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar of PML-N, and remained runner-up. Syed Ali Musa Gilani was also contesting against
Shah Mahmood Qureshi in this constituency but Ali Musa came at the third position.

Shah Mehmood was successful from NA-150 (Multan-III) where he bagged 92761 winning votes and defeated PML-N candidate and former MNA from this seat Mr. Rana Mahmood ul Hassan who got 79680 votes.

Commonly called Shah Mahmood Qureshi, he was born on June 22, 1956 in Murree. He is son of late Makhdoom Mohammad Sajjad Hussain Qureshi. He is married with a son and two daughters.

He obtained BA degree in 1978 from the Punjab University followed by an MA in 1983 from the Cambridge University. He is an agriculturist by profession and has also travelled abroad.

Belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), he was elected to the Punjab Assembly in 1985, 1988 and 1990 elections. He also served as the chairman of the District Council, Multan, from 1987 to 1991, MNA from 1993 to 1996 and District Nazim Multan from 2001 to 2002. He served as the Punjab minister of finance from 1990 to 1993 and minister of state for parliamentary affairs from 1994 to 1996. He has also been associated with several organisations of farmers.

He was elected as member of the National Assembly in 2002 and 2008 elections from Multan. He joined PTI on 27th November 2011 at Ghotki in front of thousands of his political and spiritual followers. On 4th December 2011 Imran Khan appointed him as vice chairman of PTI.
