Elections 2013: Nomination papers of Mr. Ayaz Amir were not accepted by the returning officer for NA-60 (Chakwal-1). Later, on 10th April 2013, The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench Election Tribunal, accepted his papers and changed the decision made previously by a returning officer who had declined his nomination. However Major (R) Tahir Iqbal was successful in securing the PML-N ticket for this constituency.
Amir’s nomination papers for his constituency NA-60 in Chakwal-1 were rejected because he allegedly wrote articles against the “ideology of Pakistan”. This column was read in court today and was found to be non-objectionable by the bench.
The PML-N leader had earlier pleaded for his candidature and claimed that he did not write any objectionable article.
